Review- Hyundai EON D lite
Hyundai India has unveiled the much-awaited small car ‘Eon’ this is the base variant equipped with 814 cc petrol engine suitable to drive out 56 bhp of power and 76Nm torque. The features on this variant are not accommodated very vividly but being the low priced variant, it will not attract complaints. It has features like gear shift indicator, child lock, dual trip meter, remote fuel lid opener, remote tail gate release, power outlet, engine immobilizer, interior rear view mirror and rear seat belts are standard on the D Lite model. Being decently priced this model comes with 2 tone beige and brown key color interiors.
Storage capacity is given special reference in all the variants including the base model. Therefore, deluxe floor console, exclusive dash storage with a small pedestal space in the middle, cup holders and 3 assists grips are given in this model. Air conditioning is absent in this model which is supposed to be the biggest disadvantage of the variant. However, even this variant claims to deliver an ARAI certified 21.1 kmpl mileage, and that’s quite impressive. The car is very good for long journeys as it comes with comfy bucket type single unit front seat and folding rear seat. Even the boot capacity is quite reasonable to load a lot of luggage in it.
This car with its manual transmission, 800 L SOHC 3 Cylinder engine, 814 cc engine displacement, maximum power of 55 Bhp @ 5500 rpm, maximum torque of 76.5 Nm @ 4000 rpm, and also with the city mileage of 17.3kmpl and highway mileage of 21.1kmpl it is one of the most economic car for middle class people which can give them both power and comfort. Apart from this it runs on petrol and with its good mileage the cost for the fuel decreases. Its massive tank can consist 32 liters of fuel and it has a seating capacity for 5 people too. But it has some drawbacks too like it came without Air Conditioner, CD player, Anti Lock breaking system, power steering system, power windows, central locking but overall it’s a great car to have.
This despite being a small car is powerful. The cars that are coming into the market are packed with great features. If you have the money you would be confused to see the variety available at the showroom. But take a test drive; this helps you get a clear idea about the car.
While buying car you definitely should go for a test drive. But I personally feel that, it is not right to rush to a showroom after seeing the ad of latest car on TV. If you do not need another car then do not buy it. If you buy another car you could donate your old one.

This car has been well designed; but on the other hand some almost essential features are missing from it. Most cars now have air conditioning so, it would be better if the next version of the car has this feature. I think a time will come when these features would be available in every car.

Since this car is fit for long distance travel, people who love going on long road trips would love this car. Big families would need a bigger car. I also think that you should only choose cars that meets all your requirements.
I think it is time for car makers to be bold and experimental with car designing. I think it would be best to work on hybrid technology. Switching to hybrid technology is now becoming extremely important for us.
